We provide a nursery for children ages three and under during worship services, including a time of gospel-centered Bible teaching from the same curriculum our older children use, The Gospel Project.
4 years-5th grade:
Children ages 4-5th grade come with their parents to worship but are then dismissed for a lesson during the sermon. Our teachers use The Gospel Project to share not only individual bible stories but how the stories connect to the overall hero of the Bible: Jesus. The 4 years-1st graders meet next to the nursery and 2nd-5th graders meet upstairs in the Kid Zone.
Outside Sunday Morning
In addition to Sunday morning, we offer various opportunities for the children throughout the year… From Vacation Bible School, annual Christmas skits and Easter egg hunts to gatherings of children/parents for playdates in the summer. Harbor’s Children’s Program is growing and provides a meaningful way for families to get connected, build relationships and share the love of Jesus with others.
Several of our parents have gone through the New City Catechism with their children. A catechism is simply a series of questions and answers designed to help you memorize or learn the truths contained in the Bible. New City Catechism offers both an adult and children’s version on the computer, IPad and android devices. Children usually love anything with the iPad and this seems to be no exception to that rule. The children’s version is obviously a condensed version of the question and answer, with a prayer, a scripture verse, and a song or songs to which they can sing and dance.
